Spatial concepts
spatial concepts

Designing attractive and functional spaces is the foremost job of an architect. Cepezed strives for an architecture with a high degree of lucidity and transparancy. With the frequent use of glass, this partly arises from the materialization, but the spatial concepts are at least as important. According to cepezed, buildings should be intelligible. People should feel safe and comfortable in them, and should easily be able to orientate themselves. The shape and style are simple, self-explanatory and spared of any decorative elements. Technical subtlety provides the designs a maximum neutrality both in- and externally. Differentation is brought about with spatial elements such as voids, conservatories and atria. Service-elements such as lifts, staircases and sanitary areas are accomodated in separate zones or volumes. This not only offers construction technical advantages, but also extends the usability of the main spaces, that are generally flexible in their layout. Obviously, the context of plot and surrounding construction is always taken into account during the design process. Buildings designed by cepezed are abundantly provided with daylight and view. Their materialization is sober but stylish.
