Demountable construction a trend? Online lecture about 3 Dutch examples

lucas van der wee | cepezed

How to design a building that can be dismantled? What are the advantages of doing so? And how does this fit into a circular way of thinking? Architect Paddy Sieuwerts, partner at cepezed, will give a lecture to German students of the HafenCity Universität on Wednesday 6 July. The lecture can also be attended online.

cepezed philosophy
Sieuwerts will talk about three cepezed projects: Building D(emountable), The Greenhouse and the Temporary Courthouse Amsterdam. He will also discuss the cepezed philosophy. These special buildings are not only demountable and circular, they are also the logical outcome of the cepezed way of working.

efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly
The basic philosophy behind cepezed projects is the creation of user-friendly architecture. The creation of flexible and future-proof structures with an abundance of daylight that offers a pleasant stay and optimal use. By using prefabricated and high-quality products, they make construction efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly.

the circular example project in the Netherlands
The cepezed method of prefabrication allows for the dry assembly of the various parts. As a result, buildings can not only be constructed quickly and (relatively) silently, but, thanks to smart design, can also be disassembled and reassembled elsewhere. The Temporary Courthouse Amsterdam is considered the circular example of remountable structure in the Netherlands. The building has been dismantled and will be rebuilt in Enschede next year.
