festive and official opening town hall woerden

Yesterday, the sustainably renovated Woerden town hall was festively and officially opened. The transformation project designed by cepezed and cepezedinterior was already completed and taken into use in April.

The opening acts were performed by mayor Victor Molkenboer and the Utrecht commissioner of the King, mr. J.H. Oosters. In the presence of the press and invited guests, the Woerden flag was raised and a plaque was unveiled. Several speeches were given and cepezed spoke about the design.

The old town hall had an energy label G and the municipality minimally required an A+ label after renovation. The renovated building was eventually awarded the A+++ label, the second highest achievable. Energetically, the building has thus made a leap of more than six steps. In addition, the revitalization has greatly improved the representativeness, the overall atmosphere and the quality of the workplaces. Moreover, the project was realized in a budget-neutral manner; partly due to the sustainability measures and a significant reduction of the building’s size, the operating costs after renovation have remained the same as before.

Coming Saturday June 15th, residents and other people interested can visit the new town hall during the open day from 11 AM to 3 PM.
