menno rubbens guest at idee café

Menno Rubbens, director of cepezedprojects, is a guest at Bouw Idee Café on Thursday 1 October. Promoting innovation in construction, Bouwend Nederland and Cobouw started a series of live streams about innovation in construction in mid-September. The Bouw Idee Café is hosted by Cobouw journalists Thomas van Belzen and covers diverse topics such as Digital Construction, Energy Transition, Building on a Small Plot and Social Innovation.

circuar building
The third episode on October 1 is entirely devoted to Circular Building. Journalist and writer (The Sustainability War) Thomas van Belzen receives four leaders from the construction sector in the field of circularity. In the 10-part series, cepezed is the first design and architecture firm.

intelligent & innovative
cepezed is synonymous with intelligent, innovative designs and smart prefabricated construction. Circularity, sustainability, a very limited use of materials and remountability are spearheads in the projects of the offices. In Menno Rubben's role as developer at cepezedprojects, he is at the origin of many of the ground-breaking cepezed projects. The Temporary Court of Amsterdam won the Amsterdam Architecture Prize with its circular design, the circular catering pavilion The Green House in Utrecht won the Dutch Sustainable Building Public Prize and the multi-tenant office Building D (emountable) was nominated for the Cobouw Awards category Sustainability thanks to its circular construction method.

According to Menno, building construction must be design-driven again; think first, then act. He sees more intelligent buildings that are better prepared for an unpredictable future as the greatest opportunity for innovation in the field of circular construction.

Follow the broadcast live on Thursday 1 October, from 4 - 5 pm live via Zoom. Or watch the episode online afterwards. For more information, see the website of De bouw maakt het.
