Kosovo court

The Kosovo law court is housed in a building that was once a school. Afterwards, until 2011, it was in use by Europol. For this Design & Construct assignment, cepezed worked together with BAM. The design is an elaboration of a preliminary design by the Central Government Real Estate Agency and includes both renovation and new-build.

international court in the hague

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor's Office try serious crimes allegedly committed by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army against ethnic minorities and political opponents in the years 1999-2000.

Because suspects can be seen as freedom fighters by part of the Kosovar population, the trials are a sensitive issue in Kosovar society. In addition, witnesses may feel threatened in Kosovo itself. For these reasons, trials are being held in The Hague.
