super swift realization: prefab concrete skeleton wolfert lansing

lucas van der wee | cepezed

The concrete stability structure for the new Wolfert Lansing building in Bergschenhoek has been realized at breakneck speed. The school for pre-vocational secondary education, intermediate general secondary education and the junior years of higher general secondary education will be more than 5.500 m² and three floors high. The supporting structure of the cepezed and cepezedinterieur designed building was completed in only three weeks.

prefab concrete system

For the stability structure of the building, cepezed has used the modular and beamless concrete system CD20. This consist of slender columns measuring 20 by 20 cm with large floor slabs also of only 20 cm on top of them. The fast realization is possible because of steel fastening elements incorporated in the concrete. But the system has other important benefits as well.

important benefits

• clean assembly, hardly any concrete poured in situ
• great precision due to prefab industrial quality
• weight and material savings due to slender elements
• beamless and therefore no obstacles for installations
• limitation of the façade surface through lower storey height with equal free height
• flexibly arrangeable and therefore future-proof
• easily expandable and adaptable both horizontally and vertically
• easily demountable and reusable

The standardized construction system is also very cost-efficient and ensures that the project can be realized with high quality within budget. If everything proceeds as smoothly as the assembly of the skeletal system, the pupils can already move into the brand new education building by the fall of 2020!
