Amsterdam Zuidoost will be expanded with a Smart Mobility Hub. This hub is a parking garage, transfer machine and sports complex all in one. The plinth will accommodate communal functions. cepezed designed this enormous building in collaboration with Buro Sant and Co and Goudappel Coffeng, among others. The construction phase will start promptly.

The Smart Mobility Hub is located next to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Right on the border of Ouder-Amstel municipality and Amsterdam, a plot of at least 42 thousand square metres is being prepared for construction. In the surrounding area between Duivendrecht railway station, the Johan Cruijff ArenA and the Amstel Business Park, De Nieuwe Kern is projected, a new district with 5 thousand homes, a large park, office buildings and the expansion of sports complex De Toekomst.
bus terminal
The Smart Mobility Hub will include a bus terminal, communal facilities, and a large sports park on its roof. It is meant to be a place for everyone, from residents of Amsterdam Zuidoost to visitors of the Ziggo Dome. The Smart Mobility Hub will be in use by the end of 2026, forming a connecting link between the existing neighbourhoods and De Nieuwe Kern.
The 'smart' in the building's name refers to the smart digital entry system, but also to the efficient outlay of the floor plans and the clever construction, which allows for function changes and is demountable.
